Chief Operating Officer Wanted (relocation to Virginia preferred). The position will be responsible for the oversight of multiple hospitals with a growing group. Their facilities are primarily small/companion animal practices. This position is very much focused on business sense and people skills (with subordinates and the owners, as well as industry entities). Desired qualifications/attributes include:
- People oriented, able to communicate effectively with subordinates, superiors and industry entities to collect information, assess status, acquire resources, etc.
- Flexibility to work effectively with and motivate different personalities, and to work in situations that require both planning and structured implementation, as well as situations requiring at the moment assessment and response.
- Business oriented, Understanding the value of KPIs and the steps required to implement programs to achieve them. Comfortable with numbers/statistics and their use to make informed decisions.
- Experience in direct management of staff in remote locations is very helpful.
- A background of successful concurrent management/oversight of multiple veterinary hospitals with responsibility for operational performance is a huge advantage. A background of successful concurrent management/oversight of multiple customer service businesses, preferably within the veterinary industry.
