Assistant / Associate Professor of Radiology | Mountain West Region

A College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking faculty member in Veterinary Radiology. Position Overview

The successful candidate will play an integral role in shaping curriculum, delivering high-quality instruction, and advancing academic excellence within the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a new and evolving program while working alongside a team of dedicated educators.

Faculty will be involved in teaching, mentorship, and curriculum development, helping to prepare students for the demands of contemporary veterinary practice.

Teaching & Academic Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering lectures and facilitating small group instruction
  • Developing, reviewing, and enhancing course materials and assessments
  • Contributing to curriculum design and continuous program improvement
  • Mentoring Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and graduate students
  • Supporting student learning and professional growth

Primary teaching focus includes Veterinary Radiology within the clinical sciences curriculum.

Research & Scholarly Activity

Faculty are expected to maintain an active research agenda, with opportunities for both independent and collaborative work. Areas of emphasis may include:

  • One Health initiatives
  • Wildlife and Conservation Medicine
  • Climate Change and Environmental Health
  • Zoonotic Diseases
  • Public Health

Additional expectations include:

  • Conducting research in radiology or related veterinary disciplines
  • Engaging students in research projects and scholarly activities
  • Collaborating across departments and academic specialties
  • Contributing to peer-reviewed publications and academic advancement

Service & Institutional Engagement

Faculty members are expected to contribute to institutional service, including:

  • Participation in Faculty Senate
  • Departmental meetings and faculty evaluations
  • College and university committees
  • Collaborative academic and program development initiatives

Compensation

Annual Salary Range: $149,864 – $196,539 (DOE)

Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, and academic rank through the institutional review process.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited institution

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board eligibility or board certification in Veterinary Radiology (preferred)
  • Experience or strong interest in radiology research and academic teaching
