Assistant/Associate Professor of Small Animal Medicine – Mountain West

College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking dedicated and forward-thinking faculty members to help build and shape a dynamic academic program from its foundation. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a modern, student-centered veterinary curriculum designed to prepare graduates for the evolving demands of clinical practice.

Faculty in this program work collaboratively to design, deliver, and continuously enhance course content while mentoring students and advancing innovation in veterinary education. The role offers the chance to teach and engage in a supportive academic environment with access to modern facilities and a high quality of life.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures and facilitate small-group instruction
  • Contribute to course development, materials, and assessments
  • Support student learning, growth, and professional development
  • Participate in research and scholarly activity within Small Animal Medicine
  • Mentor DVM and graduate students
  • Collaborate on interdisciplinary research initiatives, including areas such as One Health, Wildlife & Conservation Medicine, Climate Change, Zoonotic Diseases, and Public Health
  • Engage in institutional service, including faculty committees and meetings

Qualifications

  • DVM from an accredited institution (required)
  • Additional qualifications and experience in Small Animal Medicine are desirable

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $149,864 – $196,539 annually, based on experience, credentials, and faculty rank
